Women’s lifestyle blog discussing issues in society affecting young women
The Style of Laura Jane is about opening and creating new conversation on a wide variety of issues relating to young women. Topics include light-hearted reads such as: Millennials and Lattes: A Wasteful Lifestyle? to more in-depth pieces, for instance: Domestic Abuse: Society’s Failing Perception. As a women’s lifestyle blog, I am open and honest about taboo subjects. I address everything from adultery, sexting, quitting veganism, and whether beauty is better than brains.
Each blog post is well researched. I hope readers can broaden their perspective and enjoy a unique writing outlet.
My Story: Makeup artist to women’s lifestyle blog
Upon leaving college, I worked as a sales assistant on luxury cosmetic counters in London. Soon becoming bored of selling, I left to train as an artist. Although my career had a bright start, I felt disatisfied. I knew something was missing.
In the midst of deciding my next move, I put together my first blog. Sharing beauty and fashion tips, a skincare company found my work and asked me to blog for them. Immediately, I moved over to writing. I worked as a deputy editor of an online magazine, interned at a publishing house, in addition to contributing for international publications. I then found my footing as a copywriter, helping new companies market themselves online.
I’ve privately toured London’s most luxurious establishments for editorials and interviewed brand CEO’s. Nevertheless, running my women’s lifestyle blog gives me the greatest satisfaction.
