There are brushes made of real fur???? Goodness me… I had no idea!
Looking at these gives that oh-I-want-them-warmth in my heart 🙂
I don’t use a lip brush normally, but when it’s the dark purple, or dark red I do, every teeny tiny mistake shows on ghost white skin 😉

Ashamedly I use to buy real fur. I pretended that it was all innocent and they just brushed these excess hairs from goats. Which actually, thinking about that now, makes me a little ill. Like putting goat hair across my face.
I’m the same with lip brushes. Dark lipstick and it’s necessary!

It feels odd… I’m trying my best to get as far away from all animal products as I can. It’s hard when it comes to food though, but that’s only because there are already SO many things I can’t eat due to health.

Sorry for my late response. I’m trying to avoid animal product as well, but my clothes are not vegan, so I feel a little hyprocritical. There are some really good recipes online that are vegan and gluten free etc, what foods do you have to avoid?

At the moment I need to avoid pretty much everything… I live on rose hip soup…
What I can eat depends so much on how my body is feeling during they day, but generally I need to avoid pretty much all carbs (not just the bad ones), so many different fruits and vegetables. There are even days where I can’t eat at all without passing out or have my pulse reach like 210.
I sometimes make chicken and keep in the fridge with tomatoes so I can grab a bit every now and then. Chicken is pretty OK for me, so it’s sort of emergency food. But it’s sooo expensive…
I have a doctor now that knows what POTS is, so she’s really helping me figure things out, and what we can do 🙂

My fingers are crossed with the doctor – glad you have one who understands. I’m hoping you will have a list soon to add to the soup. 🙂

Thank you for reading Kerry! I’m really trying to find good quality brands that are cruelty-free and consider the environment. I always think, if I had my own brand, that’s what I would want. xxx

I had no idea that fur brushes were a thing. I am not vegan, but something about that is just so incredibly wrong and horrifying. I have only ever used synthetic brushes, and while I should be better, I haven’t put much stock in quality brushes until recently.
As for make-up while she isn’t one hundred percent vegan (she uses honey in some of her make-up) Jane Iredale doesn’t test on animals and uses natural ingredients and I swear by her. My skin has never been better since I started using her products. <3

Most brands like Tom Ford use goat hair. But you can find badger, pony, sable, fox and red squirrel out there. It’s always worth checking if a brush is natural or synthetic, as natural means animal hair.
It’s great you’ve found a skincare brand you love. I’ve never tried her products before. x

I would love to read your thoughts!
