To the lovely friends of friends who allowed me and my sister to have a Portugal holiday in their apartment – I’m sorry. We smashed the glasses in the wine bar, broke our mugs and scarred the statue dog outside. We were young children and my parents wrongly assumed we were good.
With me on the blog today, is a beautiful woman who’s house in Portugal I haven’t touched. Over a year ago, Tatianna was the first interview I put on my blog. E-meeting her through Instagram reminds me of social media’s wonderful benefits.
Having travelled all across the country herself, Tatianna reveals the best food to eat, the best places to visit, and Portuguese fashion.
The Style of Laura Jane: Where are the best places to visit in Portugal?
Tatianna: Lisbon, Sintra and Porto. Portugal has beautiful places, but the heart of Portugal is in Lisbon. We have the most beautiful beaches located to the South.
Where are the best places for food?
Lisbon also has the best restuarants with typical Portuguese dishes.
What Portuguese dishes should tourists try?
No doubt, the best dishes are: bacalhau à Bràs, cozida à portuguesa, arroz de pato and sardinhas assadas. These are all typical dishes of Portuguese Gastronomy. As well, there’s the famous pastel de Belém, undoubtedly the best!
How would you describe Portuguese fashion?
The Portuguese are very concerned with their appearance. Whenever I walk into stores such as Zara, it’s always full. We have many fashion events. One of them, is called Portugal Fashion. It’s a project that aims to give visibility – nationally and internationally, to our fashion and supports change in the textile industry.
Describe your recent trip to the city Évora:
The city Évora, in the Alentejo region of Portugal, is one of the most historically important towns in our country. The Remains of its rich past led its historic centre to be classified as World Heritage by UNESCO in 1986. I visited the whole city, including the Évora Cathedral and the Roman Temple of Évora.
Have you had a Portugal holiday? If so, which part of the country did you stay? And if you haven’t had a Portugal holiday, are you now determined to go?
