The perfect jumper top is officially a thing.
They are form-fitting and warm enough to stop you from adding another layer which will disguise your original outfit – providing that your jumper is only put on for practicality.
I have a love-hate relationship with jumpers. My pear-shape frame seems to clash against there usual relaxed ‘boyfriend’ vibe. I end up feeling as though my wide hips have swallowed my waist.
The perfect jumper top however, looks sensible for fall and gives me definition.
This Button Detail Roll Neck Top is £24 from TopShop. As most sizes have now been purchased online, here is another alternative from the brand: Bold Sleeve Roll Neck Jumper £36
I can see why Marilyn Monroe opted for tight sweaters. There’s a wonderful balance of sex appeal and class. I feel as though I could head to a date and then to a family dinner and look appropriate for both.
These photos taken by Shehan Fernando were shot over the holidays. What’s interesting about shooting with a photographer, is how they analyse your clothes. Both of us noticed the gold buttons which create a touch of glamour and the slight roll neck which is very complimentary.
Other ways I would style this perfect jumper top, is with strappy heeled sandals and light jeans, cropped trousers (maybe with a neutral pattern) and black pumps, or with a high-waisted skirt in a different material. I’m not the biggest jewellery fan and I felt that the gold buttons on the side were all the accessory needed.
What’s your go-to fashion piece this fall and have you found the perfect jumper top?
